Doctor of Philosophy (Generic)

Entry Requirements

1. A Master degree with honours in a relevant field from UTM or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the UTM Senate; or
2. Other qualifications equivalent to a Master degree and experience in the relevant field recognized by the UTM Senate; or
3. Candidate who is currently registered in a Master degree programme at UTM, and approved by the Graduate Studies Committee of the respective faculty and the UTM Senate

Requirement for international students

Students must have a valid two-year TOEFL certificate with PBT score of 600 or above (IBT/CBT equivalent) or IELTS Band 7.

iii. Da’wah and Leadership

ii. Shariah and Law

Program Structure

Students are required to perform research work leading to the writing of academic thesis. The thesis must be written either in Malay, English or Arabic. Students also required to register these following courses:

Research Methodology
Philosophy of Science and Civilisation or other University’s general course

Student must register the research methodology course in the first semester in order to equip themselves with the technical and methodological aspects doing a research.

Online application

Application for Master and PhD by research is open throughout the year. The registration will be on February, May, September and November. However, candidate may register at any time at the Student Recruitment and Admission Division (SRAD) office located at F54 UTM Johor Bahru Johor, or at the School of Graduate Studies, level 8, Menara Razak, UTM Kuala Lumpur.
