Language Communication in Society (LCS) Research Group focuses on innovative research addressing fundamental issues of language and communication across social and professional settings.  Studies conducted by LCS are interdisciplinary which significantly contribute to the understanding of communication processes, the role of language in society and cultures, the roles of participants, their objectives and goals.  Integrated approaches to the studies of text, genre and discourse are applied in analysing a wide range of data types. Examples of the approaches in language and communication studies are discourse analysis, genre analysis, systemic functional linguistics and multimodality.
