Chuo Student Exchange & Nippon Discovery (Chuo SEND) is a core program at Chuo University under a grant received as part of the Project for Promotion of Global Human Resource Development the auspices of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). In this program,  undergraduate students are taught on how to teach Japanese language and culture, and then they will be sent to partner Universities overseas. The faculty of Language Academy has been the host  in a 5 years MOU with Chuo University Japanese Language Teacher Training Program.  The trainees will be participating in Japanese language teaching programs as teaching assistants. Through this program, Japanese and foreign language and culture, deepening the ties between their two schools and nations. Over the long-term, it is hoped that this global program will encourage students worldwide to become more mature and global citizens.

Professor Takao was in Language Academy UTM together with 4 Chuo University students. The trainees are now in Sultan Ibrahim Girls School (SIGS) teaching Japanese. They will then continue doing their training in UTM for further exposure. It is hoped that this SEND program will benefit both countries socially and academically.
