BI

The objectives of this competition are:

  • To provide opportunities for participants to showcase their innovations in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Education
  • To instill educator and researcher awareness on continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning
  • To promote educator competency in practicing 21st century teaching and learning
  • To create networking opportunities between educators and researchers

Competition Details

Rules and Regulations

  1. Open to all educators and researchers
  2. Participants must select one category to submit their innovative project which are:
    • Higher Learning Institution (UA/IPTS)
    • Higher Learning Institution (IPG/Matriculation/Polytechnic/Community College)
    • Vocational College (KV)/ Industrial Training Institute (ILP)
    • Secondary School
    • Primary School/ Preschool
  3. Participants may choose to enter individually or in group.
  4. Group participation can only have up to 5 members per group. Members can come from schools, university, students  or industry. The group leader must be 18 years old or above.
  5. The deadline for submission is 10th September 2023.
  6. Participants are allowed to submit more than one submission. The participant must pay the full amount for each accepted submission
  7. Presenters can present in Malay or English. No other language is allowed.
  8. The poster and extended abstract can be either in Malay or English. No other language is allowed.
  9. The organizer reserves the right to reject submissions that do not fulfil the above-mentioned criteria.
  10. Each participation will receive an e-certificate.  Medals will be given for participants who fulfil the minimum marks in judging criteria.

Competition Guideline

1. Each participant is required to submit the following:

    i. Poster (softcopy) 
   ii. Extended abstract  

2. Poster:

    i. The poster size is 16:9 using the following PowerPoint template I Template (Click Here)
    ii. Please submit the poster in in JPEG format
   iii. The poster should contain:
         • Background of problem
         • Design of the product/idea/project (highlight of the product/idea/project. You may include diagram or framework)
         • Impact towards education stakeholder(s) (include evidence such as data or photos)

3. Extended Abstract

     i. Please use the extended abstract template (Click Here)
    ii. The maximum number of pages is four (4)
   iii. The extended abstract should either be in English or Malay
   iv. The extended abstract needs to be submitted by the due date
    v. The extended will be published in IICE2023 proceeding with ISBN

4. Judging process

     i. All team leaders need to be present online during the judging process
    ii. Participants are given 7 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for question and answer with the jury

   iii. The judging process will be conducted online.

 

All documents should be submitted by 10 September 2023

 

Judging Criteria

The judging criteria is based on:

i. The quality of ideas
ii. The innovativeness of the product/project/system/framework
iii. The impact on education stakeholder(s)
iv. Poster
v. Presentation

Prizes

We offer attractive prizes that include:

  • Cash prizes for top innovation
  • Best presenter award
  • Each participation will receive an e-certificate. Medals will be given for participants who fulfil the minimum marks in judging criteria.
