SLEC, the Syariah, Law, and Economy Research Group, was founded in 2010 as a dynamic and interdisciplinary research group with a keen focus on various aspects of syariah, Islamic finance and economic jurisprudence.
Over the years, SLEC has developed expertise and conducted extensive research in areas crucial to the convergence of Islamic principles and contemporary business practices.
The group’s primary areas of focus include halal science and management, Islamic banking, Intellectual Property (IP) in Islamic contexts, Zakat (Islamic almsgiving), Wakaf (endowments), Islamic bioethics, and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).
