Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching (ALLT)

Introduction

The ALLT research group focuses on the study of language use in the community, specifically how it is taught, learned, and used from various perspectives including education, applied linguistics, psychology, and sociology. The group’s formation aligns with UTM’s vision to encourage research activities among academics.

 

Objectives

  1. Foster and develop a competitive research culture among group members.
  2. Conduct research activities related to the teaching and learning of L1/L2/foreign languages in various educational contexts.
  3. Improve the quality of research and increase the number of Principal Investigators (PIs) among group members.
  4. Encourage research collaboration in applied linguistics and language teaching both in Malaysia and internationally.

  1. Sumitomo Grant Application: Sharing of experience session on 23 September 2020 by Mr. Kumaraguru a/l Ramayah and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim bin Abdul Raof.
  2. Session with Adjunct Professor: Prof. Dr. Zuraidah Mohd. Don on 12 October 2020, offering assistance for researchers interested in writing for Q1/Q2 journals.
  3. Research Proposals: Submission of research proposals to secure grants from the Sumitomo Foundation and the Digital Society Research Grant (MCMC).
  4. Upcoming Activities: Presentations at Knowledge Sharing Sessions, publication of journal articles, and participation in research-related webinars.
