EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING)
OVERVIEW
The Master of Educational Technology program is offered by the School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UTM and is implemented through course work/mixed-mode/full research. Postgraduate Open Distance Learning (ODL) is specially designed for working professionals and open to all Malaysian. The timetables are flexible and customs to suit student’s time yet follows the curriculum of mainstream programme.
The aim of the Master of Educational Technology program is to ensure that students are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies at the respective levels as prescribed in the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) to enable them to pursue career opportunities in a variety of jobs related to Educational Technology.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE (ODL)
This ODL program is offered on full-time mode and is based on a four-semester + 1 short semester academic session with several courses being conducted and assessed in each semester. The class will be held three times a month on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). It offers several courses and academic activities that would develop potential Educational Technology practitioners.
Campus: Fully Online Mode
Duration of program: 2-8 Semesters (subject to current lesson plan and UTM academic regulations)
Class timetable: 3 times weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month
Mode of program: Taught course / Open Distance Learning (ODL)
Total credit hours: 45 credits.

ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
International students who wish to enroll in the postgraduate programs at UTM must meet the English language competency requirements as stipulated below:
- Malaysia University Entrance Test (MUET) with a minimum score of Band 4.0 and above; or
- IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6.0 and above; or
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 60 and above; or
- Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), with a minimum score of 168 and above; or
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with a minimum score of 59 and above; or
- Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) achieving Level 109 and above.

- CGPA ≥ 3.0 for the Bachelor Degree in Education or bachelor degree from other areas of specialization with a Diploma in Education with CGPA not less than 3.0 ; or
- Bachelor degree with CGPA < 3.0 but have teaching experience or relevant work experience may be considered – subject to conditions and procedures prescribed by university ; or
- Candidates without professional qualifications may be considered into the programme but must complete one additional course during first semester of the programme:
