UTM\u2019s 53rd Convocation Ceremony will witness Language Academy\u2019s very first graduate in the field of Language for Professional Communication. Language Academy\u2019s Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) programs were first offered in September 2011 soon after its formation in June 2010.\u00a0 Language Academy\u2019s graduate, Ms Rohani Embong carried out her master\u2019s research investigating the work of Malaysia\u2019s internationally acclaimed Cartoonist Datuk Mohamad Nor Khalid or better known as Lat in her thesis entitled \u201cLinguistic and Visual Representations of a Political Figure in Editorial Cartoons\u201d.<\/p>\n
It is Language Academy\u2019s aspiration to continue producing graduates who will contribute and bring about significant impact on current professional and communication practices in the future.<\/p>\n

Pada Majlis Konvokesyen UTM yang ke 53 ini, Akademi Bahasa melakar sejarah dengan melahirkan graduan sulung pengajian sarjana secara penyelidikan dalam bidang Bahasa untuk Komunikasi Profesional Akademi Bahasa mula menawarkan program penyelidikan di peringkat sarjana dan doktor falsafah pada September 2011 sejurus penubuhannya pada Jun 2010.<\/em><\/p>\n Graduan sulung Akademi Bahasa, Cik Rohani Embong telah mengkaji hasil kerja kartunis ulung Malaysia Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid atau lebih dikenali dengan nama \u201cLat\u201d dalam tesis beliau bertajuk \u201c Linguistic and Visual Representations of a Political Figure in Editorial Cartoons\u201d.
